CCL have developed this course to provide Relationship Managers with a practical guide to understanding their role in ensuring their firm’s Compliance with applicable rules and regulations. The course will open with an overview of the need for Compliance and the importance of establishing a Compliance culture, before discussing codes of ethics and the benefits of behaving ethically.
It will then discuss the role of front-line staff as the firm’s first line of defence, considering their responsibilities under Money Laundering and FATCA regulations, and highlighting the importance of effective risk-based due diligence. Next, the programme will concentrate on the issues that Relationship Managers may encounter that could lead to Conflicts of Interest, such as remuneration and inside information, before providing practical advice on mitigating those conflicts. The course ends on the topic of corporate social responsibility and looks at when whistleblowing might be the only option.
The workshop style programme uses a variety of teaching methods including relevant case studies, illustrative examples and participant interaction to help participants quickly grasp and internalise new knowledge. It is highly interactive and participants will be invited to discuss illustrative examples in order to gain a practical understanding of all these issues.
